City of Louisville
Incorporated in 1882 Louisville is situated 25 miles from Denver and 6 miles east of Boulder. Louisville has a population of approximately 10,000. Surrounded by 1700 acres of open space and centered around the old Main Street. Louisville has a charm that is hard to find in most neighborhoods.
There are Summer concerts, Farmer’s Markets and the Ice skating Rink is always busy in the Winter. The Main Street has many beautiful historic buildings that today house restaurants, stores and coffee shops.
This town, like many in the area, was settled by the coal miners that came to work in the local mines. Louisville, however, was not a company owned town. The last mine to operate around Louisville closed in 1952.
