City of Nederland

Located 15 miles west of Boulder and 8236 feet above sea level sits the old mining town of Nederland. This small town has been  through three different mining booms, gold, silver  & tungsten, which was discovered in the 1900’s and is still being mined in the Nederland area today.

Nederland has a population of 1400 and has a wonderful small "Downtown " area with shops and restaurants. Located just minutes from the center of town is Eldora Ski Resort which has night skiing. And don’t miss the Barker Reservoir, a popular fishing spot, within walking distance from the center of town.

This town has become famous for the yearly Frozen Dead Guy Parade that is held in the late winter every year. But the story of Morstoel (The Frozen Dead Guy) is a whole different page in Nederland’s History.
