Broomfield offers a prime location, situated within the north metro area between Denver and Boulder along U.S. 36/Boulder Turnpike up to the north I-25 corridor, beyond Colorado 7. Our location offers a short 20-minute drive to both Denver and Boulder, and less than 40 minutes to Denver International Airport -- a quick trip when friends and family come to visit! Broomfield prides itself on its safe streets, neighborhoods and shopping areas. Kids can safely walk or bike to parks and recreation amenities, to visit friends, or just to, well, be kids! And so can adults. Broomfield is committed to the community policing philosophy, so you will see officers visiting with residents, talking with youngsters in park and school settings, and visiting with folks at "Coffee with a Cop" opportunities at coffee houses all around town. This familiarity works to keep Broomfield´s crime rate one of the lowest in the nation. Broomfield ´s rate of crime has seen a steady decline in this decade, and Broomfield citizens are less likely to become the victims of crime than in the past.  In the 1980s, the rate of crime was 53 serious crimes for every 1,000 residents.  In the 1990s, the rate decreased to 38.  In 2006, the crime rate was 28.6 serious crimes for every 1,000 residents ? all this while the population has steadily increased to the current 52,000-plus.
